Matija Zupančič is a founding partner and managing director of Urankar & Zupančič, Ltd.

He advises clients primarily in the fields of commercial and civil law, with a focus on matters involving significant substantive and procedural complexity. A substantial part of his practice covers white collar and regulatory matters in the business environment, particularly cases involving an interplay of criminal, administrative, and corporate law aspects that require a carefully considered and strategic approach to risk management.

Before co-founding the firm, Matija spent ten years at one of Slovenia’s larger law firms. Throughout his career, he has successfully led numerous major construction, corporate, and competition law disputes that have significantly shaped Slovenian case law. He has represented and advised clients in the most significant telecommunications disputes in Slovenia and provided legal support in the development of complex energy projects. Matija also has extensive experience in leading negotiations and concluding settlements in legally and commercially complex matters.

He provides clients with professional and carefully considered legal support, clearly identifying the core issue, available options, and the strategy for achieving the desired objective. He builds client relationships on mutual trust, full transparency, personal commitment, and proven results.
